This book is very helpful for junior UI/UX and product designers to prepare task interviews and to enrich their portfolio. It has helped me build my portfolio and win offers with zero work feel. It has helped me build my portfolio and win offers with goose egg work experience. I see some people phone call it a "fast read", and I think that's probably why they find it non as skillful as they expected. For virtually of us, it'due south difficult to call back a book when nosotros have read only one time quickly and never open up it again. And if you don't practice a single task listed in this volume or elsewhere, of course you won't gain whatever skill.
So here is how I utilize this volume and won offers from large tech companies:
I have notes when I read. I reflect on similar tasks I've encountered before. If I retrieve I can do meliorate than the writer, I write down my thoughts. After I end the "how-to" part, I picked a few tasks and really designed my own solutions using the methods I learned from this volume. Some of them become into my portfolio. Now I continue the book at mitt and always become back for reference hither and there.
Anyway, for me, this is an exercise volume and a lexicon, not a fast read, not a novel, or whatsoever entertainment. And of course, you tin find everything on Google and Medium. Merely whoever summarized useful methods together in a book, his time worth the price of the book. By the way, you lot owe this book for your life for $37, and you browse Medium one year for $50.
